Minnesota State Shutdown part II

The proper organizations for "helping people" is churches, charities, and non-profits.  It is not the government.  When the government tries to use its monopoly of force to help certain groups of people it is by definition using the force of law to hurt other groups of people.  The danger is when people start to really honestly believe that it is ok and desireable for the government to isolate and use its force against certain groups of minorities.  This is true no matter who the government is supposedly "helping".  That is when the road to hell (Democratic fascism) is really paved with the best of intentions.  And that is why government has no business (and NEEDS to get out of the business) of "helping" its favorite clients.
