Candidate Tussle

Perry is in and looking strong.  It looks like he and Michele Bachmann are going to fight it out for the support of the all important Tea Party.

On a side note, I really really like the Tea Party.  I think people should have gotten organized and involved like this a long long time ago.  I like how de-centralized it is with no real leaders for the MSM to focus in on and try to attack and distract people.  It really is just the honest expression of true Americans who want the best for their country.

So anyway, I think Perry really has Bachmann rattled.  She has been off her game lately, and not campaigning as well, and when she does campaign, she makes huge promises like taking the price of gas back down to $2 a gallon.  Now I don't think that is beyond the realm of the possible, but it does set her up for easy attacks and one offs by her enemies.  Perry came in strong, with harsh words for the Fed, and good campaigning right off the bat.  He is being set up as an establishment guy, when actually many movement conservatives are working against him.  But his enemies are right to be worried about him.  He is a strong campaigner, and he has one of the best records in the country.  If he can help his state be so incredibly successful during the Obama double dip recession and general stagflation, just imagine what he could do for the country.  This is catching the interest of tons of conservatives, and independents, and has already propelled him high in the polls.

McNabb????

I am a little skeptical about the Vikings this year.  After the total collapse last year with Brett Favre retiring, and Chilly getting fired, we have lost Sidney Rice, and Pat Williams.  This really is going to be a rebuilding year.  I do like that they drafted a promising young quarterback in Christian Ponder, and brought in veteran Donovan McNabb.  Hopefully this will give us a fighting chance in our division this year and the potential to seriously grow in the years ahead.  We really need to solidify that quarterback position.  It has been a decade since we have had a real franchise guy who showed promise, and was in the peak of his career.  The lack of leadership and consistency there has left our team adrift.  This was especially evident when Favre came in in 2009, and was able to put the peices together, and give us a serious run at the Super Bowl.  There is no denying it, we have a good team, with quite a bit of talent on it, we just need someone to lead it to it's natural potential.
